Tips #

Leave a 3-4 column wide shaft in the middle of the base. This allows space for a ladder, fire pole, and transport tube.

Build a maintenance area around the outside of the base. Heavy wire can be run around the outside of the base with transformers on each level to run power through the floors. Batteries can be added to floors to help when power is low.

Leave a small (2 tile high) level at the bottom of the base to capture carbon dioxide. This leaves all the functional levels of the base breathable.

Place a storage area below the galley with unpowered refrigerators and allow carbon dioxide to pool here. This allows food storage without the need for power since the refrigerators are in a sterile atmosphere. Sweepers can be placed to automatically supply grills.

Self-Powered Oxygen Modules (SPOMs) are handy for generating oxygen. They require a steady supply of water and four wheezeworts.

Use cool slush geysers to cool the base. Once enough heat has been absorbed, pump it through a sieve and put the clean water in storage.
